MICROSOFT OFFICE SUITE® CLASSES

Gain the edge you need in today’s competitive job market. The Word and Excel courses are designed to provide learners with a wider knowledge of skills in each application, and the skills necessary to prepare them to take the MOS exams for certification in Word and/or Excel. After completion of each of these courses, students will be prepared to perform a variety of tasks widely used in business offices.

A lab section is open to registrants of any of the MS Office suite courses. The lab section is designed to complete exercises as part of a course. The lab section also provides on-line exam preparation and pre-exam assessments for registrants in taking the MOS Certification exam.

MAIL MERGE

Prerequisite: Students must be proficient in computer literacy, file management, and keyboarding. The ability to perform a Mail Merge is less daunting than you may think. Learn the efficient way to create individual documents, labels, envelopes, individual emails, and catalog/directory lists using the Mail Merge function in MS Word. This 5-hour class taught over two meetings will cover the basic document requirements for performing a mail merge. Also covered are tips and tricks for preparing source documents for a mail merge, and using Gmail to perform an email mail merge. No text required. Students should have basic user knowledge of MS Word. Basic knowledge of Excel not required but helpful.

MICROSOFT EXCEL 2013 – TIPS AND TRICKS

Prerequisite: Computer Typing (Minimum typing speed must be 25 wpm) and Introduction to Computers. Expand your current skills in Excel by learning how to work with data on large spreadsheets. Topics include using tools for enhancing charts, navigating around large spreadsheets, using special functions to manipulate text, and data in columns. Get a feel for using tables and pivot tables to analyze data. No textbook is required.
