Do you have questions about MEDICARE? HICAP has the answers. Welcome to Medicare is a free class presented by the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) in Contra Costa County. During this session will explain and answer questions about Medicare benefits, prescription medication coverage, Medicare Advantage plans (HMOs), Medicare Supplemental insurance and will discuss how Medicare coordinates with retiree benefits or veterans' benefits. After this session, you will be able to make informed decisions on how best to address your needs for health insurance coverage with Medicare. Call HICAP to register: (925) 602-4168.

Senior Scholars Program

The Senior Scholars Program is a Partner in Education

This Humanities, Arts & Education Program brings together adults & children in a weekly educational setting.
• Adults will meet with student learners grades K-5 to read, write, & illustrate selected literary works.
• They will also celebrate special days & create works of art together.

The adult volunteers need to register & be given the training that is necessary to mentor their group of student learners. The program is sponsored by West Contra Costa Adult School. Senior Center Classesxx

Senior Centers offer topical speakers, resource information, some health screening, exercises, table games, handicrafts, needlework, special occasion celebrations, a variety of entertainment, occasional field trips, fellowship, friendship, massage, snacks, and cultural activities. In addition, instruction is available in foreign languages (Spanish and German), computer skills, internet access, arts and crafts, t'ai chi, current events and dance. A low-cost lunch is also available.
